C4 Restores Sutherland Springs Church After Tragedy

Updated: May 6, 2020

Sunday May, 20th 2019 was the first time the bells of the First Baptist Church tolled in nearly two years. The church opened the doors of its new worship building Sunday after the arduous efforts of churchgoers, friends, family and C4 General Contractor, LLC. A new addition adjacent to the sanctuary is a "Memorial Room," and above it, a bell restored from the old church. Sunday morning, as the bells rang through the building, the names of the 26 victims were read out loud. The governor was at the service and said on Twitter that the ceremony and memorial "ushers in (an) era of healing for the congregation" and community. "I have no doubt that God will continue to work through this community to write the next chapter for the remarkable and faithful people of Sutherland Springs," Abbott said in a statement. Mark Westbrook, Co-Founder of C4 General Contractor, LLC stated, "We stand behind our communities, helping them restore after disaster strikes is the right thing to do."
